Why is my McAfee Web Advisor not working?

McAfee WebAdvisor supports the following operating systems and browsers:

Operating Systems:

• Microsoft Windows 10
• Microsoft Windows 8, 8.1
• Microsoft Windows 7

Web Browsers:

• Google Chrome - supports the current released version, and the previous version (current - 1)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.x or later
  Note:- WebAdvisor works in 'headless mode' in Internet Explorer, which means that the toolbar is not displayed unless an issue is found.
• Microsoft Edge - supports the current released version, and the previous version (current - 1)
• Mozilla Firefox - supports the current released version, and the previous version (current - 1)

 
This issue can happen because browser plug-ins such as mcafee webadvisor are sometimes disabled during a browser update. ... (Plug-ins are also called 'extensions' or 'add-ons' by some browsers.) Solution. If you have this problem, manually enable the mcafee webadvisor/siteadvisor plug-in in your browser.

Steps:- To enable Mcafee web advisor

Follow these steps to install the free standalone version of mcafee webadvisor:

1. Open your web browser. If you are using Windows, use Internet Explorer regardless of whether it is your preferred browser.
2. Go to https://siteadvisor.com.
3. Click Free Download.
4. Click Save and select a location to save the webadvisor setup file.
   
   NOTE: Depending on your web browser and settings, you might need to click a bar or button to allow the file download. 
   
   
5. When the download completes, open the setup program and follow the on-screen instructions to install webadvisor. 
   
   NOTE: After you restart your web browser, you might be prompted to select mcafee Secure Search as your default search provider.
